Bauchi Govt Introduces 17 New Road Projects, Streets Naming, and House Numbering

The Bauchi State Government has given the green light for the development and revamp of seventeen new rural and urban roads throughout the state with the aim of improving the standard of living of the residents.
Furthermore, the state has mandated that all land allocations within and outside the state capital must receive approval from the State Executive Governor in accordance with the Bauchi State Land Use Act 2022, as revised.
These decisions were reached during the State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Bala Mohammed.
Following the meeting, the Commissioner of Works and Transport, Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, informed journalists that the road construction projects, primarily focused in the state capital, are part of Governor Bala Mohammed’s ongoing rural and urban renewal initiative.
In addition, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Lands and Survey, Hajiya Amina Katagum, revealed that the council has endorsed the naming of streets and the numbering of homes throughout the state to bring it in line with international best practices.
Amina Katagum highlighted that this initiative aims to improve the provision of essential services to households and bolster the security of lives and properties.
Further decisions made during the council meeting include the transfer of Yankari Transport Corporation operations from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the Ministry of Works and Transport, the relocation of the Federal Medical Center Azare to Misau Local Government Area, and the implementation of a state emergency services and ambulance system to provide prompt assistance to accident victims.
