Bauchi Gov to Partner NIDCOM to develop State Economy

The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has indicated interest to collaborate with the Nigeria in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) to take advantage of the human capital potentials of Nigerians living abroad.
Governor Bala Mohammed, made this known at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House Bauchí, when a high powered delegation from NIDCOM led by its Secretary paid a courtesy call recently, where the governor emphasized the importance of leveraging the skills and expertise of diaspora Nigerians to drive economic growth and development in the country.
He commended the efforts of NIDCOM in promoting the interests of Nigerians abroad and fostering partnerships between the diaspora community and the Nigerian government.
He noted that the diaspora community has made significant contributions to the development of Nigeria, particularly in the areas of medicine, engineering, and technology.
He stressed the need to overcome the challenges faced by Nigerians living abroad, including mistrust and frustration with the system and emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for diaspora Nigerians to invest in their home country and contribute to its development.
The Governor Mohammed suggested for the establishment of more nursing schools, teaching hospitals, and other institutions to develop the human capital of Nigerians.
He expressed his willingness to collaborate with NIDCOM to identify investment opportunities and create an enabling environment for diaspora Nigerians to invest in their home country.
The Chairman of the Commission Dabiri Erewa who earlier spoke through the Commission’s Secretary Dr. Yakubu Bassey informed the Governor that they are in Bauchi for Sensitization and Advocacy Program to promote Diaspora Investment Potentials in the Northeast of the Country.
The Commission’s leader of delegation Commended Governor Bala Mohammed for turning around Bauchí State and appreciated the state government for the warm reception accorded them since arrival in Bauchi.
