Bauchi Gov, NUJ, SWAN Appreciate Wikki FC’s Return To Premier League

Governor Bala Mohammad of Bauchi State, Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Baúchi State Council and Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN have congratulated the state owned football team, Wikki Tourist FC for picking the Premier League ticket after its successful outing in the just concluded super 8 NNL competition in Asaba, Delta State.

Governor Bala through his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Comrade Muhktar Gidado said on behalf of the Government and the sports-loving people of the State, heartily congratulates the management, technical crew, players, and teeming supporters of Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi on their remarkable feat of securing promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after two years of its absence.
He said such achievement is a testament to the hard work, resilience, discipline, and team spirit demonstrated throughout the just-concluded Nigeria National League (NNL) season, which the Governor commends the club’s unwavering determination and the sacrifices made by all stakeholders in restoring the club to its rightful place among the elite of Nigerian football.
He acknowledged the crucial role played by the club’s supporters and the good people of Bauchi State, whose unflinching support, prayers and belief in the team contributed immensely to this success.
He explained that Government of Bauchi State remains committed to promoting sports development and creating the enabling environment for youth empowerment, unity, and talent development through football and other sporting activities.
In another development, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, has congratulated the state-owned Football Club for a historic return to the nation’s Premier Football League, two seasons after its relegation to the Nigeria National League.

NUJ equally commended the management, players, and technical crew of Wikki Tourists FC for their dedication, commitment and discipline exhibited throughout the last football season and the just concluded super 8 competition in Asaba, Delta State.
NUJ through a statement issued by its Secretary, Isah Garba Gadau pointed out that the achievement is also a testament to teamwork, perseverance, and community spirit.
While appreciating the justification of the team’s return to the elite division, NUJ Bauchi Council callef on Governor Bala Mohammad to redouble his support to the team for Bauchi to reclaim its position on the nation’s sporting map.
Similarly, the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Bauchi State Chapter, through its chairman Bala Bawaji congratulates Wikki on their triumphant return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
“Your outstanding performance at the NNL25 Super 8 Tournament in Asaba, Delta State is a clear testament to your resilience, discipline, and footballing excellence.” He said
SWAN stated that this remarkable achievement reflects the hard work of the players, the technical crew, the management, and the unwavering support of fans across Bauchi State and beyond, saying such commitment and determination have once again placed Bauchi on the national football map.
