Bauchi Gov kicks off over $1 billion drilling Cement Company in Diji

In his administrations determination to open up and make Bauchi state a Commercial center to attract more investors and make Bauchi one of the best cities in the country in line with the dreams of the founding fathers of State, Governor Bala Mohammed, on Tuesday 4th March 2025, officially Flagged off the drilling campaign for the exploration of cement at Diji Village, Gwana District in Alkaleri local government area of Bauchí State.
Speaking at the ceremony Governor Bala Mohammed, assured the Management of the company, Resident Cement Limited of the Communities’s support, adequate security of their lives and properties.
He explaining that the multi Million Naira investment would benefit the state and the country and therefore Commended the Federal Government and other relevant stakeholders for the partnership.
In his address, the Group Chairman Resident cement Company Ltd. Dr Abbas Waziri Junaid, expressed the company’s readiness to actualize the Project and assured the Government and People of Bauchi and other partners that with their Cooperation and Prayers, his Company will make history by ensuring successful exploration of quality Cement in the rich solid mineral area of Diji in Gwana District.
Dr. Abbas Junaid Commended Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed, for believing and trusting in the ability and Capacity of Resident Cement Company that led to this Partnership which it result has started showing the light.
He said ” as we take advantage of rich Solid Minerals deposited in Bauchi state, Particularly Alkaleri LGA, we promised to provide employment to the Communities and other social needs considering the mass expected annual production of Cement in Diji Village”.
He called on well to do individuals in Bauchi State and particularly Alkaleri to take advantage of the Company to build Commercial structures that will attract guests to boost the state economy.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Commissioner of Natural resources development, Mohammed Maiwada Bello, said the ground breaking ceremony marked a significant milestone in governor Bala Mohammed’s quest to unbundle the huge mineral resources that abound in the state and Commended the Governor for his support to the ministry.
The Emir of Bauchi Dr. Alh. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, Commended Governor Bala Mohammed for proving an enabling environment and all supports that endured the todays ground breaking of drilling Cement in Diji Village.
He however, appreciated the Management of Resident Cement Company for finding Bauchí State Worthy of protecting it Multi billion dollars investment and assured that they will give their blood to ensure total protection of the investment and other facilities of the Company.
