Bauchi Gov Commends Tinubu for Launching irrigation farming in Bauchi to boost food insecurity, Create Jobs

The Federal Government of Nigeria under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has launched dry season farming programme under the Irrigate Nigeria Project, kick started in Bauchi with 30,000 hectares of farmland at the weekend.

Governor Bala Mohammed at official launching of the program, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating the Project, which is the first in the country, describing it as historic and testament to his Good leadership ingenuity and innovative spirit.

He further praised NASENI for spearheading the initiative, saying it sets the space for new model of large scale commercial agriculture that is transparent and well structured.

Governor Mohammed said the Project is expected to have a significant impact on the State’s economy and food security, with the government ensuring its sustainability to attract more participants across the state.

Governor Bala Mohammed said the Project aims at increasing farming capacity, economic growth and food security for Nigerian farmers, and drive knowledge transfer, introduce advanced technology and distribute wealth equitably .

He said in appreciation to federal government’s initiative to put food on the tables of Nigerians and his administration ‘s commitment to modernize and encourage agriculture in Bauchi state and the Country, he announced the allocation of 50,000 hectares of Land in Toro LGA for various agricultural activities as he expressed gratitude to see 30,000 hectares of land harvested annually in Udubo.
