Bauchi Gov commends NEDC leadership

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has commended the leadership of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) under the Managing Director Mohammed Goni Alkali for exhibiting a quality leadership.
Gov Bala Mohammed emphasised the importance of synergy and cordial working relationship between the Federal Government and sub-national entities for the benefit of the citizens.
He was speaking yesterday when he received the delegation of NEDC that accompanied the Minister of State, Ministry of Regional Development, Hon. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, who led the Board and Management of NEDC for a courtesy visit.
The Governor said Collaboration with the federal government and its agencies is key to growth and development, saying both state and federal governments have taken deliberate institutional steps to create a conducive atmosphere for development.
He said that the NEDC symbolizes partnership, solidarity, and shared purpose between the federal government and sub-national entities.
“Let me particularly commend the quality of leadership currently managing the affairs of the NEDC. The Commission, under Mohammed Goni Alkali, has demonstrated focus, clarity of vision, commitment, results, flexibility, and capacity to manage impact.”
We want you to extend the federal government’s goodwill to Alkaleri from Dindima so that travelling between Bauchi and Gombe, the most important town there, will be easier. It is just about 10 to 15 kilometers, and we have already communicated this through the Ministry of Works,” he said.
Speaking earlier the Minister explained that they were in Bauchi to supervise ongoing projects undertaken by NEDC and commission completed the ones.
He explained that the projects span key sectors including education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, commerce, and markets, all aimed at improving the welfare and living standards of the people of Bauchi State.
Alhaji Uba Maigari noted that the delegation comprised officials from relevant ministries, members of the National Assembly, the NEDC Board, and senior management staff responsible for policy direction, funding oversight, and day-to-day administration of the Commission.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for what he described as transformative projects that are positively changing the landscape of Bauchi State.
