Bauchi Gov Charges Newly Sworn in Commissioners To Live Above Board

In his continued efforts to ensure better services to the people of Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed, on Wednesday swore in Eight Newly appointed Commissioners.

 

Addressing the newly appointed Commissioners after their oath of office, administered by the Bauchi State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House, Governor Bala advised the new Commissioners to live above board in the discharge of their respective responsibilities in the interest of the state.

He re-,emphasized the determination of his administration towards re-branding Bauchi state to greater heights, saying it has been the policy of his Administration to occasionally reshuffle the State Cabinet to reinvigorate and reposition the machinery of the State Government for effective and efficient policy formulation and implementation.

Governor Bala Mohammed, recalled that five Commissioners were recently dropped, saying five out of the eight newly appointed Commissioners would replace the dropped ones, while two others would replace the Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning & Multilateral Coordination, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo who was recently appointed as Secretary to the State Government and the late Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Jalam who was until his death, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The Governor further explained that the remaining one new Commissioner would take charge of the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development.

While appreciating the five dropped Commissioners for their immense contributions to the development of the state, Governor Mohammed challenged the new Commissioners on judicious use of government resources at their disposal and also advised them to resist the temptation to divert public funds to their personal use.

The Governor told the new Commissioners that their performances will be closely monitored to ensure they live up to the responsibilities of their various Ministries, warning that, no cabinet member will be spared if found wanting.

Governor Mohammed assigned Alhaji Usman Usman Shehu to Ministry of Information & Communication, Dr. Iliyasu Aliyu Gital to Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi to Ministry of Livestock Development, and Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde to Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs.

Others include Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah to Ministry of Works and Transport, Alhaji Adamu Babayo Gabarin to Ministry of Youth and Sports Development , Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed to Ministry of Lands and Survey and Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam to Ministry of Education.

Similarly Governor Mohammed announced the redeployment of some serving Commissioners which include Amina Muhammad Katagum from Ministry of Lands and Survey to Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Ibrahim Gambo Galadima from Ministry of Works and Transport to Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Muhammed Salis Gamawa moves to Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment from Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, while Engr. Binni Abdulkadir from Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Societal Re-orientation.

Responding on behalf of the new Commissioners, Usman Usman Shehu expressed thanks and appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed for finding them worthy to serve their state as commissioners in their assigned Ministries.

He assured the Governor and the people of Bauchí State of their total loyalty to the government of Bauchi State, promising that they will put in their best to justify the confidence repose in them by contributing to the rapid development of the state in line with Governor Bala Mohammed’s development Programmes as practically exhibited .
