Bauchi Gov. Begs Fed.Govt. to Extend Legacy Roads Projects to North East Region for economic Growth Development

The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has described infrastructural development as very important and yardstick for driving economic growth and prosperity.
Governor Bala Mohammed who was speaking when he received the Minister of Works, David Umahi, emphasized the important role infrastructural development plays in attracting and boosting economic growth and development of any society.
Governor Mohammed made a passionate appeal to the Federal Government to extend its Legacy Roads projects to the Northeast region, connecting the area to the rest of the country and unlocking its vast potentials for development.
Our Correspondent in Bauchi who covered the occasion reports that, the Governor used the visit of the Minister of Works to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its numerous legacy projects across the nation and urged for the inclusion of the Northeast region in the scheme.
The Governor’s appeal comes as the Minister embarked on a tour of federal government roads recently cut off by devastating floods in the northern part of the state.
He lauded the Minister’s timely response to abandoned road projects, urging for more support and synergy between the Federal and State governments to accelerate economic growth and development.
The Minister of Works said the inspection tour was under the directives of President Tinubu, aimed at assessing the damage and finding solutions to the perennial problem.
Senator Umahi praised and appreciated Bauchi state government under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed for swift intervention in repairing damaged roads and alleviating the suffering of commuters.
While acknowledging Bauchi state government’s efforts, the Minister reassured that all abandoned road contracts would be revisited, with the contractors to either return to site or face contract revocation.
He pointed that this move is expected to inject new life into stalled projects, boosting economic activities and connecting communities.
The federal government’s response will be crucial in unlocking its potentials, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for its people.
