Bauchi Gov assures workers of Improved Welfare

Governor Bala Mohammad of Baúchi State has assured the Nigeria Labour Congress, Bauchi State Council of his readiness to continue to improve the welfare of the State workers.

Governor Bala Muhammad, represented by State Head of Service, Barrister Muhammad Sani Umar, assured workers that his administration is committed to their welfare especially in implementing policies that will improve their lives and make Bauchi State a better place to live.

“My Bauchi Projects” initiative, aimed at improving the lives of the people, saying government is ready to support workers with more initiatives which are in the pipeline.

He urged workers to continue to support his administration as they strive to make Bauchi State a better place for all.

Governor Bala said his administration has started process of employing 10,000 workers in the state to improve the service of the State.

Earlier speaking, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Bauchi State Chapter, Comrade Dauda Maidara Shuaibu, highlighted numerous challenges facing workers, urging the government to prioritize their demands and work towards improving the lives of workers in Bauchi State.

Comrade Shuaibu called on the state government to ensure early provisions of fertilizers and other agricultural inputs, implement the new pension scheme, and pay gratuities.

He also urged the government to reactivate the motorcycle and car loans scheme to improve workers’ lives.

Comrade Shuaibu commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad’s administration for implementing the new minimum wage, recruiting workers, and embarking on development projects. “We appreciate the efforts of the Governor in improving the lives of workers,” he said.
