Bauchi Gov Appoints Shira as New MD Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC)

The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has appointed Umar Mohammed Shira as the new Managing Director of Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC).

This was made public through a press statement signed and made available to journalists in Bauchi, Monday, 10th March 2025 , by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communications, Comrade Mukthar Mohammed Gidado, where it started that the decision to appoint Umar Shira, reflects the Governor’s confidence in the leadership capabilities, vast experience, and dedication in the media and communications sector.
“As a seasoned professional with a proven track record in media management and broadcasting, Umar Shira is well-equipped to reposition the state owned Radio (BRC) for greater efficiency, mobilization and influencing the general public on the policies of Government in the best interest of the state “. the statement stated.
According to the press statement, Governor Bala Mohammed expressed confidence and hope that the new Managing Director will leverage his wealth of experience to enhance the corporation’s role as a credible source of information, education, and entertainment for the people of Bauchi State and beyond.
While calling on the staff and other stakeholders of the Corporation to support the new Managing Director to achieve his mandate to improve the station’s operations and service delivery , the press statement also congratulated the new MD for his well deserved appointment and announced that the appointment is with immediate effect.
