Bauchi CSC Suspends 6 Officers, Promotes 79

The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has suspended six officers for serious misconduct relating to the misappropriation of government property.
This information was disclosed in a statement by Saleh Umar, the information officer, and shared with newsmen in the state.
The suspensions were deliberated upon during the Commission’s valedictory sitting, the 41st plenary session, held on November 14, 2024, before the Commission went into recess.
The suspended officers were accused of selling or converting government properties associated with the ongoing construction of flyovers bridges at Wunti and Central Market in Bauchi metropolis, an act that violates Section 0327 of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations.
This serious misconduct warranted their suspension under Section 0331 of the same regulations to facilitate an investigation by the relevant authorities.
The suspended officers, all staff members of the State Ministry of Works and Transport attached to the State Infrastructures Development and Maintenance Agency (BASIDMA), are Mohammed Musa Saye, Chief Store Officer Ado Abba Pali, Senior Technical Officer, Danladi Noma, Senior Fireman, Garba Nuhu, Senior Works Superintendent, Ibrahim Inuwa, Technical Assistant (Electrical) and Uzairu Mudi, Technical Assistant (Electrical).
Their suspension took effect from November 14, 2024.
In addition to the suspensions, the Commission reviewed and approved the acting appointment of a Deputy Director of Planning from the rank of Chief Planning Officer and promoted 79 deserving officers, converting three others in Environmental Health and Executive cadres from the Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency, (BASEPA) and the State Drugs Consumables Management Agency.
Furthermore, during the session, two nursing officers, Rakiya Musa and Ibrahim Muhammad Lawan, were reinstated into the state service.
The management of the Bauchi Radio Corporation were also directed to resubmit authentic recommendations for senior staff promotions, ensuring that a petitioner, Bashir Idris, who had been sidelined, is included.
