Bauchi Concludes Plan to Establish $1.5 billion Cement Company

Bauchi State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a renowned cement company, Resistance Cement Company to establish a massive cement production plant in the state.
The project, valued at $1.5 billion, will be constructed in Gwana District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state and is expected to produce ten million tons of cement annually.
The signing of the MoU marks a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to attract foreign investments and boost its economy.
The project will not only generate employment opportunities but also stimulate economic growth and development in the region.
Governor Bala Mohammed, who witnessed the signing of the document at the Council Chamber of the Government House Bauchi, assured the company of his government’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for investors to thrive.
He also pledged to prevent any encumbrance that might hinder the smooth execution of the project.
The cement company will construct a 100-megawatt electricity plant, a dam, and a truck parking space, among other social amenities, to support the project.
This will not only benefit the company but also the host community and the state at large.
The Bauchi State Commissioner for Natural Resources, Mohammed Maiwada Bello, and the State Attorney General, Hassan El-Yakub, signed the MoU on behalf of the state government, while the Group Chairman of Resistance Cement Company, Abbas Junaidu Waziri, signed for the company.
