By Abbas Usman, Bauchi

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi, Mal. Haruna Abubakar has observed with dismay that some party members are being cajoled into the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in a clandestine move to deliberately thwart the gubernatorial aspiration of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare ahead of 2027 polls.

Malam Haruna Abubakar who is the State Coordinator for Contact and Mobilization Committee of Professor Ali Pate’s governorship aspiration, recalled that such disgruntled APC members, in 2015 perpetrated similar sinister atrocity against Ali Pate when he aspired for the same seat under the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

Speaking at a contact and mobilization meeting at Soro village in Ganjuwa LGA of the state, the coordinator said such party renegades could have their political machinations or bearings ending in a waterloo, saying the struggle to clinch the state’s apex seat by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare has assumed an unprecedented dimension that no amount of calumny campaigns could reverse it.

The coordinator further recalled that those party members were the same retrogressive elements that constituted a clog in wheels of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Air Marshall Sadiq Baba Abubakar’s 2023 electioneering processes that culminated to the party’s failure to grasp the Bauchi apex seat.

Abubakar, who holds the traditional title of Ajiyan Galambi, also revealed that Health Minister, in the drive to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secure at least 45% of votes in Bauchi State in the 2027 polls, has so far provided employment to over 300 indigenes, especially in the health sector.

“Thus is in addition to Minister Pate’s making Bauchi the only state in the federation with two teaching hospitals, two schools of nursing, a Federal Medical Center, an orthopedic hospital, Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, National Fistula Surgery Hospital, and in company with another patriotic citizen – Federal University of Agriculture”, Ajiya pointed out.

According to him, the above professional and educational institutions both established and in the making means generation of more employment opportunities for citizens of the state, apart from those to be recruited into the ongoing construction of other new institutions, and new comprehensive healthcare centres in each of the 774 LGA’s across the states including Bauchi.

Coordinator Ajiya also noted that some APC governorship aspirants in the state have even stepped down for Ali Pate, taking into cognisance his adaptability, suitability and appropriateness to the Bauchi political apex seat comes 2027 general elections.

He also noted that a person of the minister of health, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate who abandoned a multi-million dollar foreign job only to serve his country and its people cannot in any manner or circumstance, siphon public funds, as has today been the happenings in many states of the federation.
