Armed Forces Day: Taraba Gov Donates N50M To Emblem Appeal Fund

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has made a significant donation of 50 million naira to support the launch of the Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem.
The donation was announced at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, Governor Kefas reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of the fallen heroes and retired soldiers.
In his address, the Governor emphasized that his government will continue to work on welfare packages and healthcare support for veterans.
He commended the sacrifices and resilience of both fallen heroes and surviving veterans, assuring them that their efforts will never be forgotten.
Governor Agbu Kefas stressed that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day is more than a reflection on the past — it is a call to action for the future.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace and security in Taraba State, assuring citizens that the government is working closely with security agencies to address threats and create a safe environment for all.
The event featured prayers, free medical treatment provided by the Ex-Army Pikin Association, the laying of wreaths and other activities aimed at honouring the nation’s heroes.
