APC Lawmaker Empowers 200 Women with Cash Donation in Taraba
OKERAFOR ATHANATIUS, JALINGO
Hon. (Haj.) Batulu Mohammed, member representing Gashaka Constituency at the Taraba State House of Assembly has empowered about two hundred (200) women from her Constituency with cash donations amounting to thousands of Naira.
Haj. Mohammed, who got her mandate under the umbrella of the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state made the disclosure this Thursday while speaking exclusively with our Correspondent in Jalingo the State capital.
The female Lawmaker who said the gesture was in fulfilment of her campaign promises to her constituents added, “it will further assist the beneficiaries in their day to day markets and businesses”.
She further stated that her constituents have been facing perennial water supply which at most times, they share water with animals.
“The problem of the people in the rural areas is water and you know that water is life. If you can see the type of water our people are drinking, it’s very pathetic”.
“So, in view of that, I concentrated mostly on digging of Boreholes and I have dug a good number of them. I have also repaired some dilapidated ones, all to make sure that they have good drinking water”.
“Apart from the above stated, I have built some lock-up shops for business to thrive, provided desks and benches for our school children”, she noted.
As a member of the opposition, APC in the State Assembly, the Lawmaker told our Correspondent that nobody talks about political party rather their main focus daily was on how to better the lives of their immediate constituencies.
“At the House of Assembly here in Jalingo, we have PDP, APC, APGA and NNPP members representing various constituencies”.
“The governor has incorporated all of us, charging us to be speaking with one voice and therefore, we are one family now”, she added.
While speaking on the leadership styles of Governor Kefas and his achievements for the past one year, Haj. Batulu emphasized that Kefas has achieved much on infrastructural facilities.
“He had renovated the state’s College of Nursing and Midwifery among other tertiary Institutions in the State”.
“Insecurity has reduced to the barest minimum, Pensioners are now receiving their pensions and gratuities and again, declaration of free primary and secondary education in the State is highly commendable”.
“On the issue of appointments, Kefas is a gender friendly Governor because, women are occupying some sensitive positions in his cabinet”, said Batulu Mohammed.
She however, called on the entire people of Taraba State, not only Gashaka Constituency or local government area to support Governor Agbu Kefas’ Programmes and policies for him to succeed”,
