AN OPEN LETTER TO DR. AGBU KEFAS, EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF TARABA STATE A COALITION OF YOUTH AND WOMEN IN DONGA LGA

Your Excellency,
We, members of the Coalition of Youths and Women Groups in Donga Local Government Area, respectfully bring to your attention the need to restore balance and fairness in the political representation of the Takum/Donga/Ussa Federal Constituency.
Over the years, our people have upheld a zoning arrangement that has ensured justice, equity, and peace among the three local governments. The sequence is clear: Donga (1999–2007), Takum (2007–2015), Ussa (2015–2023). Naturally, the 2023 elections should have returned the House of Representatives seat to Donga.
However, Takum currently holds both the Senate and House of Representatives seats simultaneously. This development, while legally possible, undermines the spirit of fairness and threatens the democratic harmony we have enjoyed.
Your Excellency, as a leader known for fairness and inclusivity, we appeal to your conscience and sense of justice to ensure that this imbalance is corrected in the 2027 elections. Donga deserves the House of Representatives seat, and restoring this balance will strengthen trust, equity, and peaceful coexistence in our constituency.
We remain hopeful that under your leadership, justice will prevail.
