Aku Uka Urges Peace, Unity, Youth Responsibility as CAN Pays Christmas Homage

The Aku Uka, His Majesty Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali Matakhitswen, II has urged Christians in Wukari, Taraba State, and Nigerians at large to use the Christmas season as an opportunity to promote peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence.
The royal father made the call while receiving members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Wukari Chapter, who paid him a Christmas homage at his palace.
In his Christmas message marking the birth of Jesus Christ, the Aku Uka described the season as one that symbolizes love, humility, sacrifice, and tolerance.
He urged citizens to reflect these virtues in their daily lives, noting that the birth of Christ serves as a timeless reminder of the need for mutual respect and understanding across religious, ethnic, and social divides.

His Majesty emphasized the importance of prayers for lasting peace in Wukari, Taraba State, and the nation at large, stressing that peace remains fundamental to development, security, and collective prosperity.
Speaking on the role of youths, the Aku Uka cautioned against violence, drug abuse, and other social vices, particularly during the festive period.
He urged young people to remain law-abiding and disciplined, and to channel their energies into positive and productive ventures that would contribute meaningfully to societal growth and stability.
He also advised residents to celebrate responsibly and in moderation, while remembering the less privileged through acts of kindness and generosity, in line with the true spirit of Christmas.
The Aku Uka wished the people a peaceful Christmas celebration and prayed for a New Year filled with peace, good health, and sustained progress for Wukari, Taraba State, and Nigeria.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Wukari Local Government Council, Hon. Bala Useni Aji, delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas.

He congratulated the Christian community on the 2025 Yuletide celebration and urged residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
Hon. Aji further encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities and wished Christians a joyful and peaceful Christmas celebration.
