Adamawa NUT Flags Off Distribution of Fertilizer To Teachers

The Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, Adamawa State Wing, has commenced distribution of Fertilizer to Teachers for 2025 farming season.
Performing the ceremony at Mayo-Belwa 1 Central Primary school on Tuesday, the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Faisal Mohammed Abubakar said the gesture was from the Department of Teachers Welfare Scheme where both serving and retired teachers have been contributing a token for their welfare.
The distribution of the commodity which was well attended by Teachers, went on simultaneously both in Mayo-Belwa, Ganye, Yola-South and Fufore local government areas in the first tranche while the remaining local government areas will follow accordingly.
Faisal who was visibly overwhelmed by the ambiance of the beneficiaries noted that the initiative was to complement Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led Administration’s efforts in stimulating educational growth and welfare of Teachers.
Comrade Faisal who was flanked by the Secretary, Wakil Kyari, urged the beneficiaries to use the commodity for the purpose intended so as to boost food security.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees NUT, Michael Dzarma had earlier highlighted the positive impact of Comrade Faisal Mohammed’s leadership in entrepreneurship and industrial reinvigoration of the union where he emphasized that some Teachers have started owning their personal houses and vehicles.
The NUT Branch Chairman, Mayo-Belwa, Comrade Abubakar Kasimu and other Speakers commended the leadership of NUT for the timely supply of the fertilizer.
Similarly, the distribution of the fertilizer at Yola-South Local Government Area was greeted with encomiums from the Education Secretary, Abba Bawuro, NUT Branch Chairman, Comrade Ahmed Bobboji.
They all praised Comrade Faisal Mohammed for reviving the Teachers Welfare Scheme where both retired and serving Teachers are benefitting immensely from the Scheme.
At Mayo-Belwa, some of the beneficiaries, Musa Yahaya, Sanusi Mohammed Tugga and Musa Umar expressed their joy for the gesture while Janet Jafiya and Yahaya Aliyu in Yola-South Local Government Area couldn’t also hide their joy as they praised the NUT leadership for the initiative.
