ADAMAWA JUDICIAL SERVICE COMMISSION ELEVATES SIX REGISTRARS TO MAGISTRATES

In a significant move to strengthen the state’s lower judiciary, the Adamawa State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has approved the conversion and appointment of six registrars to the rank of Magistrates.

The decision was reached during the Commission’s 186th meeting held on Wednesday, 22nd January 2026.
A statement released on Monday, 26th January 2026, and signed by the Secretary of the Commission, Christie Ngbale Tarfa, announced the elevation of the following officers: Sa’adatu Abubakar, Hammanjoda Abubakar,Amina Mahmud Talba, Asta Michael, Kwaji Musa and
Happy Daniel Nzadon.
The conversion from registrar to magistrate represents a major career progression within the judicial system.
Registrars are primarily responsible for the administrative functions of the courts, while Magistrates preside over cases, make rulings, and deliver judgments in lower courts.
This appointment is expected to help address workload challenges and enhance the dispensation of justice across the state’s magistrate courts.
The newly appointed magistrates are anticipated to be sworn in and assigned to judicial divisions in the coming days.
