ACReSAL Hands Over Another Solar Powered Borehole To Taraba Community

The Taraba State Project Office of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes, ACReSAL has handed over another Solar Powered Borehole to the Turaki Community of Jalingo Local Government Area of the state.
Addressing the community members, the Communication Officer of ACReSAL in Taraba State, Comrade Emmanuel Njaprim, said the visit which is historic, is to symbolically hand over the Solar Powered Borehole to the community.
Comrade Emmanuel Njaprim who spoke on behalf of the Project Coordinator, Dr Yakubu Clement Giwa said, the solar powered borehole was constructed by the Taraba State Government in collaboration with ACReSAL as the leading entity to meet up with the demands of water supply to the people of community.
He stressed that with the official handing over of the facility by Taraba ACReSAL to Jalingo Local Government and the community, it will now be their responsibility to take charge of the borehole and ensure its maintenance.
He further urged them to take good care of the project and guard it jealously for future generations.
Responding on behalf of the Chairman Jalingo Local Government, Hon Aminu Jauro Hassan, the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Nathaniel Peter Notani, commended the efforts of Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State for listening to the plight of the people and embracing the developmental project which will have direct impact in the lives of the common man.
He also thanked ACReSAL for choosing the community, promising to ensure total protection maintenance of the borehole.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Royal father, Alhaji Tukur Lamido Tukur, the Galadima Muri, lauded Governor Agbu Kefas and ACReSAL for this remarkable gesture, which he termed “the biggest gift to the community, because water is life”.
He promised to take care of the project, using the medium to solicit for more boreholes to cater for the teeming population in the community.
Highlights of the event was the signing of the handing over document and presentation of ACReSAL Calendars to the Local Government representative.
