A Promise Kept… Trust Governor Agbu Kefas Always!

In the ever-evolving landscape of Nigerian politics, where promises are often made with little intention of fulfilment, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State stands out as a refreshing exception.

His leadership is defined not by lofty rhetoric, but by the tangible results of his actions — a man whose word is his bond.
From the onset of his administration, Governor Kefas laid out a bold agenda centered on education, security, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment. Many were hopeful, yet cautious, given the state’s historical challenges. Today, two years into his tenure, hope has turned into firm trust — and for good reason.
One of Governor Kefas’ most applauded achievements is the revolution in the education sector. He introduced free and compulsory basic education across the state, backed with the provision of instructional materials, renovation of dilapidated schools, and mass recruitment of qualified teachers. His vision is simple: every child in Taraba should have access to quality education, regardless of background.
This commitment culminated in a state-wide school renovation initiative and the introduction of digital learning tools in selected schools — a feat that has earned him national and international commendation.
The promise of infrastructural renewal has not remained on paper. Governor Kefas has overseen the remodeling of Jalingo Airport, now equipped to handle night landings and cargo aircraft.
His vision is clear — to make Taraba not only more accessible but also a regional economic hub.
Another significant promise fulfilled is in the area of healthcare. His administration has invested in primary healthcare centers, revamped general hospitals, and launched campaigns focused on maternal and child health, with improved access to medicines and trained personnel.
Understanding that development cannot thrive without peace, Governor Kefas has fostered strong collaborations with the military and civil defense forces, leading to improved security across key flashpoints in the state. His government’s support for security agencies has included logistics, infrastructure, and morale-boosting incentives — all of which have resulted in a more secure Taraba.
With Taraba’s fertile lands, Governor Kefas has rightly prioritized agriculture. Through partnerships, including those with international organizations like ACReSAL, his administration is equipping farmers with improved seedlings, modern tools, and training. The recent revamp of the state greenhouse project further shows his commitment to agricultural sustainability and innovation.
Recognizing the energy and potential of Taraba’s youth and women, Governor Kefas has initiated programs that provide skill acquisition, access to soft loans, and job creation opportunities. Women are not left behind, with many now occupying key positions in his government.
Governor Agbu Kefas has demonstrated that governance, when driven by sincerity and strategic planning, can change lives. His humility, accessibility, and resolve to meet the needs of the people have endeared him to all — from the rural farmer in Karim Lamido to the student in Takum.
In Taraba today, the phrase “A promise kept…” is more than a slogan — it’s a lived reality. And with every road constructed, school renovated, and life touched, the people are reminded of a leader they can count on.
So yes, trust Governor Agbu Kefas always — for he has not only kept his word but continues to write a new and inspiring chapter in Taraba State’s history.
