Bauchi Govt Urges Developed Nations To Invest More in Africa’s Energy Sector

Developed nations have been requested to increase investments in the Africa’s renewable energy sector and fulfil the Paris Agreement commitment to ensure clean, affordable and sustainable energy for the continent.
Bauchi State Commissioner for Commence, Industry and Investments, Muhammad Salis Gamawa was speaking at the United Nations Simulation Conference in Paris, where representatives from 22 nations gathered to deliberate on global energy equity.
Gamawa who was representing Africa on the world stage, stressed the need for the formulation of strategic policy framework and a passionate defense of Africa’s energy among global leaders and critical stakeholders.
He underscored the need for technology transfers, financial support and capacity-building initiatives to bridge Africa’s energy gap and empower millions who still lack access to modern energy solutions.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of Award of Exceptional Leadership on the Commissioner for his transformative leadership on the international stage.
He emphasized that the award is not just a personal achievement but a victory for Bauchi State, Nigeria, and Africa as a whole, reinforcing the continent’s rightful place in global energy discussions.
