Nyame Condoles with Taraba State Over the Loss of former Labour Leader

A former Governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly T. Nyame has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Kataps family, the Labour Union, and the entire people of Taraba State following the tragic demise of Comrade Jonah J. Kataps.

In a statement reflecting the sober mood of the state, Rev Nyame acknowledged the vacuum left by the passing of a man whose contributions to society resonate far beyond his immediate circles.
He described Comrade Kataps as a “national treasure,” highlighting the late labour leader’s unparalleled commitment to the rights and welfare of workers.
The former Governor recalled how Comrade Kataps embodied the ideals of service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication, championing the cause of fairness and equity in the workplace.
According to him, his exemplary leadership in the labour movement earned him not only respect and admiration but also a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.
While recognizing the significant impact Comrade Kataps had on Taraba State and Nigeria at large, Rev Nyame added that Kataps was a beacon of hope and a voice for the voiceless, working tirelessly to ensure that workers’ dignity and rights were upheld.
“His efforts in fostering unity and progress among labor unions were pivotal in advancing social justice, making him a symbol of resilience and advocacy”.
He therefore called on the Kataps family, the Labor Union, and the people of Taraba State to take solace in the enduring legacy of Comrade Kataps. “While his physical presence is no longer with us, his ideals and the positive changes he championed will forever remain a part of our history.”.
His Excellency assures the bereaved family and the labor community of his prayers and unwavering support during this period of grief.
He equally prayed for the repose of Comrade Kataps’ soul, urging all to reflect on the values and vision that Comrade Kataps so passionately upheld.
