3 die in violent attacks on communities in Taraba
–As KYN sought govt attention

The attention of the Taraba State government and Security Agencies in the State have been drawn to the incessant and violent attacks on Kuteb communities in Southern Taraba, Northeast Nigeria.

The attackers are said to be always targeting villages and towns in Ussa, Takum and Yangtu Special Development Area of the State and one of such attacks have claimed three (3) lives.
The President, Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria (KYN), Comrade Emmanuel Ukwen stated this during a Press Conference held this Weekend at the NUJ Press Centre, Jalingo.
Comrade Ukwen alleged that the attackers are reportedly mobilized with sophisticated firearms and logistics.
“It is critical to underscore that the region has endured repeated incidents targeting Kuteb communities in recent times”,
“Just recently, on 21st August, 2025, violent attacks claimed three (3) lives along Tati axis”, he said.
He further disclosed that an intelligence information revealed an impending attacks on the communities in the region.
Comrade Ukwen said unidentified armed groups have planned to launch massive attacks on villages and towns in Ussa, Takum and Yangtu Special Development Area and environs in the coming days or weeks.

To prevent what he described as a large scale humanitarian crisis, loss of lives and destruction of property, KYN President said, the situation requires urgent intervention.
“There should be deployment of additional security personnel to the identified flashpoints, surveillance and reconnaissance operations to verify and monitor armed groups’ movement”,
“Community engagement and early warning alerts to inform local population and reduce casualties, coordination with local Vigilante Groups and Community Rulers for real-time intelligence gathering and response”, said Comrade Ukwen.
