2ND Round: Action Resumes At UEFA Champions League
By Tanko Bauka
Actions would resume in the UEFA Champions League for the second round of matches in the new league format that football fans are yet to come to terms with.
The defending champion, Real Madrid, which opened their defence with a 3-1 win over Stuttgart, travel to France to take on Lille, who lost 2-0 to Sporting CP.
Manchester City, winner of the Champions League in the 2022-2023 season, will need to hit the ground running as they seek the three points at stake, having been held to a goalless draw by Inter Milan, as they locked horns with Slovan Bratislava, which was hammered heavily by Celtic.
There are mouth-watering encounters across the various venues in Europe, but some of the encounter that stand out is the match between Aston Villa vs Bayern Munich and Arsenal vs Paris Saint Germain.
Aston Villa and Bayern Munich both begin the tournament with a fine start, scoring 13 combined goals in the process, with Bayern Munich scoring 9 against Dinamo Zagreb while Aston Villa putting three past Young Boys.
Arsenal, on the other hand, played a goalless draw with Atalanta, but PSG snatched a late goal against Girona.
