29-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED MURDER OF MINOR IN ADAMAWA

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 29-year-old man, Isiaka Hassan, for the alleged killing of a five-year-old boy, Abba Bashiru.

The arrest followed a formal complaint lodged at the police station by the mother of the deceased, Hadiza Bashiru, a resident of Tingno village in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, police operatives launched a thorough investigation and interrogation which led to the apprehension of the suspect.
During questioning, the suspect, Isiaka Hassan, confessed to the crime of culpable homicide.
He further revealed that he had carried out the act in conspiracy with an accomplice who is currently at large.
Following the confession, the police exhumed the corpse of the young victim and transported it to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the investigation.
The CP also mandated the department to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect.
The police command, through its spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to ensuring a crime-free society and delivery of justice.
