Gombe NUJ Elections: Peter Mele Promises Comprehensive Support To Journalists

Peter Mele, one of the Chairmanship Candidates in the forthcoming elections into the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Gombe State, has unveiled a transformative vision for the state’s journalists.

During his campaign tour closing ceremony, Mele pledged to prioritise journalists’ welfare, training, and working conditions if elected.

 

Mele’s campaign promises include completing the NUJ Secretariat, providing ICT training and devices, introducing a welfare fund, and collaborating with emergency management agencies to support journalists in need.

 

He also plans to organise social activities like Press Week and award ceremonies to promote friendship and recognise excellence.

 

Mele’s leadership aims to elevate the status of journalism in Gombe State, creating a more supportive and productive environment for journalists to thrive.

 

With a focus on empowering journalists and improving their working conditions, Mele’s manifesto sets a new standard for journalistic support in the state.

 

“Empowering journalists is key to a vibrant democracy. We will work tirelessly to ensure our members have the resources and support they need to excel.”, Mele said.
