2027: PRESSURE MOUNTS ON HON PEACE SAMSON TO CONTEST FOR FUFORE/GURIN CONSTITUENCY SEAT

The push for the 40% affirmative action policy for women in politics continues to gain momentum, particularly in Adamawa State.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has demonstrated a commitment to inclusive governance—most notably by mandating women as Vice-Chairpersons in the last local government elections, a move that has brought tangible feminine impact to grassroots leadership.
However, there remains a persistent demand from the political class for greater inclusion of women in elective positions.
The latest wave of this advocacy centers on a strong call for Governor Fintiri to endorse and support a prominent female political figure, Hon. Peace Audu Samson, for the Adamawa State House of Assembly in the upcoming elections.
The goal is for her to represent the people of the Fufore/Gurin Constituency.
The voice of Fufore/Gurin has remained largely silent in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, despite its large geographical size, vast potential, and compelling community demands that require proper representation.
The constituency, which has previously produced a Speaker, needs to maintain its influential status.
Bordering Cameroun, the area is predominantly made up of farmers and traders who cherish entrepreneurship and development.
Hon. Peace has distinguished herself as a formidable force in politics, demonstrating unwavering loyalty to the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. Known for her diligence, honesty, and steadfast commitment to the Governor, party stakeholders, and the people of Fufore, her leadership qualities have not gone unnoticed.

Despite being a woman, she plays a key role in the security architecture of Fufore by supporting security agencies and community policing to ensure peaceful coexistence in the Fufore Local Government Area.
Her capabilities were showcased on an international stage when she led a delegation of Local Government Chairmen’s wives to Istanbul.
There, she delivered a compelling speech on behalf of the Governor’s wife, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, during a leadership training programme.
Beyond her advocacy, Hon. Peace’s popularity cuts across both gender and party lines. As the incumbent Chairperson of the Fufore Local Government Area, she has maintained a peaceful and inclusive administration since assuming office.
Her tenure has been marked by a focus on unity and improved welfare for her community.
She has successfully rebranded the council through key developmental projects, including the renovation and furnishing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat in Fufore; a comprehensive overhaul of the Fufore Cottage Hospital; and the renovation of the entire Fufore Local Government Secretariat, including the completion of the Council’s legislative block.
The iconic woman is bent on propelling Social cohesion in Promoting harmony by distributing welfare packages during both Ramadan and Lent for the two major faiths, a gesture consistently replicated during Christmas and Sallah celebrations.
Her leadership acumen has earned her widespread praise from both the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Muslim Council. Above all, she is lauded for her ability to unite the political class in Fufore in solid support of Governor Fintiri’s administration.
As the 2027 general elections approaches, a clarion call is emanating from all quarters within Fufore for Hon. Peace Audu Samson to enter the race for the Fufore/Gurin Constituency seat in the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
This call is firmly rooted in her proven track record, her demonstrated capabilities, and the impactful leadership she currently provides as Chairperson of the Fufore Local Government Area.
