2025: Yorro LG boss, Anthony appeals to Gov Kefas on Lacheke – Pantisawa road project

The Chairperson of Yorro Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon. Martina A. Anthony has made a passionate appeal to Governor Agbu Kefas to consider the construction of the Mararraban, Lacheke – Pantisawa road in the 2025 appropriation bill.

Mrs. Anthony, who spoke to Reporters in her Jalingo residence while answering questions on her award presentation by the leadership of TEKAN ECWA, said the Mararraban -Lacheke – Pantisawa road project was awarded by former Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku in 2015 but the project stopped after some kilometers.
“The project was abandoned and has remained in deplorable condition, making movement difficult for commuters, disrupting transport of goods and services from one location to the other”,
“I am making a passionate appeal to Governor Agbu Kefas to consider the plight of Yorro people, commence and hasten the completion of the project, “Mararraban Lacheke Pantisawa road”,

“I’m crying before the Governor to help the masses and complete the road that has been abandoned”,
“The job already done, we are very happy and we appreciate the efforts already put in place”, she said.
Our Correspondent gathered that the Gada Lacheke – Pantisawa road is a 20km road project, contracted to a German company in 2015 by the immediate past administration of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku.
Speaking on the merit award to her by the leadership of the TEKAN ECWA bloc of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Taraba State recently, the chairperson thanked God for the grace and applauded the body of Christ for the recognition.
“I’m overwhelmed for being one of the recipients of the award presentation by the leadership of TEKAN ECWA in Taraba. I thank God for His grace and TEKAN ECWA leadership in Taraba for rewarding good work.
“I once served TEKAN ECWA as the vice chairperson, I also worked as the Financial Secretary of the women wing of TEKAN ECWA in Taraba. It may be as a result of my dedication and commitment while carrying out these assignments and others that I was recommended and recognized for award”,
She added that serving the public is really challenging but she derives joy doing it. The award was to spur me to do more. I don’t play with my people, and I take assignments especially God’s work, given to me for granted”, she said.
Our Reporter also informed that TEKAN ECWA bloc of CAN in the State under the chairmanship of Rev (Dr) Philip Micah Dopah during a program held at CAN centre in Jalingo, acknowledged the generousity of Governor Agbu Kefas, former Speaker of the State Assembly, Abel Peter Diah, chairman TEKAN ECWA in the State and Acting Secretary of State CAN, Rev (Dr) Philip Micah Dopah, Hon (Mrs.) Martina Anthony, chairperson of Yorro LGA hence the awards.
Hon. Anthony who further appreciated Governor for approving the implementation of the N70, 000 new minimum wage for workers in the State, pledged towards making sure that civil servants under her watch are dedicated and committed to their duties.
On security issues, the chairperson applauded Governor Kefas for his positive show of concern over the security of lives and property of the people of the area.
“Insecurity was very high when I assumed office as the chairperson of the local government a year ago but presently, with the efforts of the governor who liaised with the security agencies across the State, the menace has reduced to the barest minimum”,
“Cases of kidnapping, armed banditry among other criminal activities have reduced and the people are enjoying relative peace”, Mrs. Anthony added.
