2025 Eid-el fitir: Kefas’ SA, Hon Obi, donates food items, drinks to Muslims in Taraba

As Muslims in Taraba State Northeast Nigeria ended their one month Ramadan fasting for the year 2025, a philanthropist and building materials merchant in the State, Hon (Chief) Uche Obi said food and drinks are vital tools to celebrate Eid-el fitir (Sallah celebration).
To complement the above stated, he donated food items and assorted types of drinks worth thousands of Naira, describing same as a contribution for his friends to have a peaceful and happy 2025 Sallah celebration.
Hon. Obi, who doubles as Special Adviser (S.A.) to the State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas on Building Materials, donated bags of rice, maize, guinea corn, cartons of bottle water and minerals to thousands of Muslims who gathered at Alhaji Suleiman Mosque, along Barde Way Jalingo, to observe their prayers.

He added that the gesture was for them to feed their families and entertain their friends and visitors during the festival.
Briefing Journalists shortly, Hon. Obi said the gesture was born out his desire to donate to the ummah who according to him passed through what he described as ‘a rigorous one month Ramadan fasting under hot weather’, food and drinks to celebrate the Eid-el fitir also known as sallah.
He told Reporters that he started visiting Muslim faithfuls at their various Mosques in Jalingo since Monday, the 24th day of March, 2025, breaking fast with them, making similar donations.
Hon. Obi said he chose the 29th day of the month as the last day of his tour which also happened to be the last day of the ramadan, to visit Alhaji Suleiman Mosque where Alhaji Sabo Gassol, whom he described as his grand father worships.
“Today, being the last day of the ramadan fasting, and an eve to the 2025 Sallah celebration, I decided to break the fasting today with the ummah with these donations”, he said.
Chief Obi further disclosed that his vision, putting smiles on the faces of the people, putting food on the tables of those facing one challenge or the other in the State was to reciprocate the recognition and appointment given to him by Governor Kefas.
As an SA to Governor Kefas, Uche Obi further called on the people of the State to be patient with the Governor, assuring that he would fulfil all his campaign promises before the end of his tenure.
Describing the governor as a gentle man, the SA emphasized that no gentleman rushes his programmes or does his things hastily.
On the free primary and secondary school education policy declared by the Governor, Uche Obi described the gesture as a welcomed development saying parents and guardians have complied to the Governor’s call by sending their wards to school.
“Free education policy declared by Governor Kefas is achievable because all the necessary tools to make it happen have arrived Jalingo, the State capital”.
He however, called on both christians and muslims in the State to always support the policies and programmes of the moving forward agenda of governor Kefas, urging them to pray for him to succeed.
Also speaking, Alhaji Sabo Gassol, the deputy chief Imam of Alhaji Suleiman Mosque, Jalingo expressed happiness with the visitor, Hon. Uche Obi.

Alhaji Sabo Gassol who further appreciated Obi for his gesture and humanitarian services also thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for finding Obi worthy to serve under his cabinet as Special Adviser.
The cleric however, called on the ummah to live in peace with one another respecting the holy Quran and lessons learnt during the month’s of ramadan.
