Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has declared open a two-day lecture on Protocol and Etiquette, Media, and Security Management aimed at improving professionalism and service delivery among public officials in the state.

The Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Chief Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps performed the opening declaration on Tuesday.

The event, held in Jalingo, drew the participation of key government officials, including commissioners, the Head of Service, Dr. Ahmed Kara, advisers, permanent secretaries, protocol officers, and other top functionaries and the media.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Chief Kataps underscored the importance of refined conduct, effective communication, and proactive security management to the success of governance.

He described protocol and etiquette as a reflection of government’s dignity and image, while emphasizing that media and security management are vital for stability and coordination both within and outside the state.

He urged participants to take full advantage of the training, stressing that the knowledge acquired would improve individual performance and enhance the efficiency of the administration.

Chief Kataps reaffirmed the commitment of the Kefas-led government to capacity building and continuous retraining of public servants in line with global best practices.

He therefore charged the participants to return to their duty posts as better ambassadors of government, upholding professionalism, discipline, and excellence for the progress of Taraba State.
