Taraba Gov Presides Over State Security Council Meeting, Vows To End Takum –  Wukari Road Attacks

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas on Monday presided over the State Security Council Meeting held at the Exco Chamber Government House, Jalingo.

The Governor who welcomed members, comprising the heads of various security agencies and key government officials among others, said it will appraise security situations in the state and strategies to tackle the challenges headlong.

According to him, the meeting will, among other things, receive briefings from the military, police, and other relevant agencies.

Dr Agbu Kefas stressed that at the end of the meeting, he will also brief them about his plans for the safety of the citizens of the State.

Those in attendance at the meeting include the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, The Chief Judge of Taraba state, Justice Filibus Joel Agya, The State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barr Yakubu Maikasuwa SAN, Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, Chief of Staff Government House, Jalingo Dr Jeji William, Special Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas on Homeland security, Hon Charles Maijankai, Chairman Taraba State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, Dr Ishaku Adda Ali, and heads of Various Security Agencies in the State.

The meeting then went into a closed door session.

In the meantime, the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has condemned the Monday morning attacks on a vehicle traveling from Takum to Wukari which led the death of innocent persons including the Deputy Registrar of the College of Health Technology Takum and about 6 others.

The Governor is reported to vowed to use all the resources available at the disposal of government in collaboration with the security agencies to put an end to the recurring attacks along the road and other parts of the state.
