15th Northeast Trade Fair: Taraba Set To Showcase Potentials

The Taraba State government has reaffirmed its commitment to continue to showcase the rich culture and abundant natural resources of the state to the outside world to boost economic growth.
The Taraba State Commissioner of Commerce,Trade and Industry, Hon George Peter stated this at the ongoing 15th North-East international trade fair holding in Bauchi, Bauchi State.
The international trade drew participants from across the zone, the country and the international community who are there to showcase their abundant natural potentials.
Taraba State has always been an active participant at the fair which was not held for several years.
With the coming of the present administration led by Governor Agbu Kefas, the state’s participation could be rated as the best so far.
This is because all the sixteen local government councils led by the ALGON Chairman, Hon Aminu Jauro Hassan are fully on ground with different natural resources that abound in the localities on display.
To match actions with his words in creating an enabling environment for the investors to come and invest in the state, the Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas and the Secretary to the Taraba State government, Chief Barrister, Gebon Timothy Kataps, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, all the sixteen local government Chairmen and members of the Taraba State Chambers of commerce were all present to expose the state to the outside world including the benefits that awaits any investor who want to invest in the state.
Appreciating the Governor, the Commissioner, Hon George Peter said since the coming on board of the present administration, attention was shifted to the exposure of the rich natural resources that abound in all the local government areas of the state.
The state government’s full participation in the trade is an indication that investors can beam their searchlight to tap from the abundant natural resources of the state.
Hon George Peter who in company of the Secretary to the Government, Chief Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps inspected all the sixteen local government councils pavilion, said the Ministry has done everything humanly possible to ensure that the noble ideas of the Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas to explore the economic potentials of the state are achieved.
He assured that no stone will be left unturned in carrying out this special assignment while commending the local government Chairmen for their support and commitment towards ensuring that investors are attracted to the state which he said will boast the revenue base of the state.
He said this is the first time all the local government areas in the state will be participating in the trade, saying that is as a result of the determination of the Governor to open up the state to the outside world, tasking them to key into the Governor’s vision for the future of the state and generations yet unborn.
Speaking further, Hon George Peter said the influx of people to the state and local government pavilions in Bauchi is a clear pointer that the dream of the Governor will soon be realise, adding that Taraba State is the most peaceful state in the Northeast ready to welcome any investor that will want to invest, saying a friendly environment has already been created by the Governor.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, said investors have nothing to fear especially in the area of the safety of their lives and property because Governor Agbu Kefas has adopted positive proactive measures which have been yielding positive results.
He said the Ministry through the workaholic Commissioner, Hon George Peter has been exploring all the possible ways to ensure that those who would want to put their monies in the state, operate in an environment that will attract more benefits to them.
He stressed that the active participation of all the sixteen local government councils in the trade fair points to the fact that the state is peaceful and ready to accommodate investors from every part of the world.
Mambilla Beverages Limited, producers of highland tea,
Taraba Tim oil,
State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development,
Taraba State Arts council and Bureau for Solid Mineral among others are also participating in the Fair.
