Taraba: 16 LG Chairmen Resign From PDP

Sixteen Local Government Chairman who were elected under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State have resigned their memberships of the party.

This was contained in a press statement, signed and issued to journalists in Jalingo by the state chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan.
Dr. Hassan who was the immediate past Chairman of Jalingo local government council said, the 16 Council Chairmen have formally tendered their collective resignations from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
According to ALGON chairman, the decisions of the PDP Chairmen was made in solidarity with the state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas who he added will be joining the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the coming days.
“We believe this step will enable us to support the Governor more effectively and align with his moving forward agenda for the State”,
“The 16 local government chairmen pledge their absolute loyalty, support and continued solidarity to the governor, whose visionary leadership, commitment to peace, and dedication to the transformation of our state remain unquestionable”, he added.
