Pray for your leaders – TSUBEB ES, Tells Youths in Taraba

The Executive Secretary (ES), Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) Mrs. Rabi Sunday has told youths across the State to always pray for their leaders instead of criticising and condemning them.

Mrs. Sunday who said better days await youths who respect the elders and stakeholders of their various communities, spoke while giving a remark on the occasion of Award Presentation of Excellent Service to Humanity’, bestowed upon her by a youth group in the State.
The programme was held at the Conference Hall of Camp Lavet Hotel, Magami, Jalingo.
“Pray for your leaders for direction and guidance and as you keep respecting your elders and other stakeholders, better things are coming your ways,”
“We are talking about peace, love, togetherness, irrespective of dialect, and religious beliefs”, she said.
An Award of Excellent Service to Humanity’, our Correspondent gathered was presented to Mrs. Rabi Sunday among other awardees in recognition of their philanthropic and selfless services to the people of Taraba State.
The presenters of the Award of excellence, according to our Reporter were a youth group called Darofai Youths Progressive Forum (DYPF) from Karim II Constituency of Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the State.
In an interview with journalists shortly Mrs. Rabi Sunday said she belonged to Darofai Ward of Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the State.
She added that DYPF were doing a recognition award to sons and daughters of the community who have supported and rendered selfless services to the widows, orphans and less privileged persons in the entire community.
“I’m honoured by this award of recognition done to me and I want to say that it’s a spur for me to do more”, she added.
The Executive Secretary, Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board, Mrs. Rabi Sunday, popularly known as Mama Darofai after her Master’s Degree in the University, joined TSUBEB in 1995 as Executive Officer Admin. before she rose to the rank of ES of the Board.
“Her meritorious service and untiring contribution towards social progress has left an indelible mark in her community”, a source said.
Also speaking in an interview, Mr. Abdulkareem Bako from Mayo Ranewo Ward of Ardo-Kola LGA of the State, urged youths in the area to embark on education.
Bako advised that, whenever the youths are approaching a leader, they should call on him or her to give support or sponsor their educational pursuits.
He also told Journalists that the elites, political office holders either elected or appointed, business men and women alike, should sponsor their younger ones in their educational careers, noting that a society that is educated in no distance time, such a society will be recognized.
